Permits
The Department of Biology strictly enforces the pre-requisites
for their courses. If the registration software cannot recognize that you completed
the pre/co-requisites for the course, it will prevent you from registering. If you
have completed the pre/co-requisites for the course and are receiving registration
errors, then you must request this permit.
The instructor has additional information that is necessary to give to a student
to ensure proper success in the course. This is common with 5000-level courses,
which are high-level courses only intended for advanced undergraduates.
Undergraduate Research on campus must be set up in advance.
Click here for UG Research web page if you wish to register for BSC 4910
or MCB 4910. You will find detailed instructions, the link to the contract as well
as more information about research opportunities in the Department.
When two courses overlap or do not have at least 15 minutes between ending and starting
times, a time conflict permit is needed. Click on the link below to go to the College
website for this form.
Students are automatically allowed to register for up to 18 hours (fall/spring)
or 14 hours (summer). If a student wishes to take more hours, the student must request
an overload approval. Click on the link below to go the the College website for
this form.
Each Department is responsible for issuing permits for the courses they teach regardless
of your major. The links below will take you to the department website so you can
request permits for courses commonly taken by science majors which are not managed
by the Department of Biology
