BioAdvise
The Department of Biology Undergraduate Studies Office
Welcome to the BioAdvise website.
BioAdvise is the resource office for undergraduate students taking biology coursework.
We are here to serve the needs of students who are undergraduate biology, microbiology,
and biology marine majors. We also serve the course-related needs of any students
taking our undergraduate courses. We collaborate with departmental divisions (IB
and CMM), our central support staff, and all other university offices to assist
our undergraduate students.
Our website includes the directional links in the biology main menu on your left.
These links are designed to guide you through common questions and issues for undergraduate
students. Please see the Graduate Studies link for questions about applying to our
department’s graduate programs.

there are three main people who run the BioAdvise office. You can see our photos
using the Central Support Staff link on the left.
- Linsay Swigart is the main support for the advisors, and may be the first person
you meet from our office. Linsay runs the front desk, answers the phones, sends
emails with advising announcements, juggles the paperwork, and keeps the advisors
informed.
- Autumn Mueller and Patrice Fischer are the academic advisors for our undergraduate
majors. The advisors meet with students individually for advising appointments,
assist with new and transfer student orientations, answer student emails, and use
any other mechanism available to assist our students’ success in their graduation
and career goals
