Research
My background and research interests include behavioral ecology, evolution and animal behavior. For my Ph.D, I conducted both field and lab studies on tropical fresh water fish. Specifically, I studied the influence of sex ratio on aggression, courtship, mate switching, and parental behavior in the convict cichlid, Archocentrus nigrofasciatum. I have also conducted field studies on the territorial behavior of the coral reef beaugregory damselfish, Stegastes leucostictus. Though my duties at USF do not include research, I hope to maintain some field research on fishes as a relaxing hobby. My teaching duties include Environment (BSC 2050 for non-majors) and other beginning biology courses (BSC 2010, and 2011) as needed by the department.
